Happy 40th with Chopard
More often than not, if a watch evokes a deep emotional response, there’s an invisible battle playing out in front of your eyes. There’s a palpable tension between diagrammatically opposing ideologies. You see, Chopard’s Happy Sport line of watches belongs to a generation of wristwatches from the latter half of the 20th-century that subverted the industry’s relationship to stainless-steel. Up until then, they made dress watches in precious metals and sports watches in stainless-steel.
The Happy Sport liberated watchmaking by literally unshackling diamonds from their settings and letting them spin freely between two sapphire crystals, within a stainless-steel case.
Twenty-six years since its launch, we’re pleased to announce our Commemorative Edition Happy Sport. Our take on a much-loved watch, which we feel does a fine job of finding a balance between extravagance, practicality and fun!
